This Memorial Day weekend, Easy Self Storage is honored to recognize two local heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country: brothers John and George Llewellyn.

While the brothers grew up in neighboring Chattanooga, John has ties to the Rossville community working at the Peerless Woolen Mills. During early onset of World War II, he enlisted in the Army and was captured shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Tragically, he died as a prisoner of war in the Philippines at just 27 years old. John is laid to rest in our hometown, at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville, GA.

His brother, George Llewellyn of Chattanooga, also gave his life for his country. Serving in the Navy, George was part of the pivotal D-Day invasion where he, too, made the ultimate sacrifice. He to this day is laid to rest on the historic beaches of Normandy at the Normandy American Cemetery in France.

The Llewellyn brothers died just 14 months apart, leaving a profound legacy of courage and sacrifice.

As a local and veteran owned business; we are truly humbled by their impact as part of America's greatest generation. We extend both our prayers and gratitude to them and their families. God Bless them for keeping our community safe and creating a better life for generations to follow. They will not be forgotten. Thank you East Tennessee Veterans Memorial Association for the information.
